Ruth Milstein was born in Israel and graduated from Tel Aviv University. After earning
a Master's degree in Art and Journalism, she went on to study Jewelry Design in Israel
and the United States. Although eventually making a career in designing jewelry,
her real passion and hobby was always food and cooking. Ruth was always looking for
ways to improve and change different dishes from various cultures and ethnicities.
Her extensive travel in Europe and the U.S., combined with original family recipes,
has brought forth "New Israeli Cuisine" in her book "Cooking With Love".
Having been brought up in the food and wine business, Howard Milstein has developed a keen and passionate interest in the finest wines from around the world. Additionally, he takes pride in his love all types of music from pop and rock to classics and Opera. Career wise, he was the proprietor of a fine wine shop for 15 years. Currently, Howard consults and assists the owner in product purchasing for one of New York's largest and eclectic wine and spirits stores. He travels to California a few times a year as well as Europe; tasting new vintages of wine including many barrel samples. Another great pleasure is consulting his wife Ruth on interesting wine and food pairings.
Currently, Ruth is in the process of gathering and putting together the format and featured recipes for her forthcoming cook book. The book will include everyday family recipes including 'Holiday' and 'Special Occasions' foods as well as many fine and interesting cooking tips that should be of interest to food lovers of all ages. Her husband, Howard's expert Food and Wine pairings also bring forth a huge 'spark' of life to the recipes you will see!
